Samsung: Galaxy S phones hits 10 million

Posted by: Mike In: Samsung

Samsung has announced that sales of its Galaxy S line of mobile phones have reached the 10 million sold milestone.

It has taken only another two months for Samsung to double its sales figures indicating that demand for the line has increased as new models have been added and sales have expanded to additional markets.

According to a report from Engadget, Samsung has done a bang-up job in competing against iPhone with its Galaxy S series, an Android-powered lineup of mobile phones available in slightly different looks and feels across the globe.

Since the initial release of the series about six months ago, the sales have gone very well, and the ambitious goal of ten million sales by the end of the year was announced just a couple months ago. This major benchmark, if reached, would be a first for any Android-powered family of phones.

The Galaxy S is the result of our 22 year heritage in the mobile industry. It is the realization of our concept of ‘the Smart Life’ – we wanted to makes users’ lives more convenient, more exciting, and more integrated. Today’s milestone shows that we have succeeded: 10 million Galaxy S users around the world are living the Smart Life.”, JK Shin (1) , said.
